It’s fun to stay at the YMCA (you can’t make this up).

So I'm sitting outside a Starbucks in Portland Oregon yesterday and I can over hear a conversation between to gay men, which to be honest didn't really catch my attention until I heard one say he'd been homeless in San Francisco. The homeless part didn't catch my interest but I lived in San Francisco and when I hear someone bring it up it has a tendency to catch my attention. So he's talking about how life is living at the Golden Gate YMCA in the Tenderloin of San Francisco, which if you're not familiar with the Bay Area is a very seedy district where pretty much anything and everything goes. It's not the part of SF you take your family to on vacation, unless you want them to witness homosexual prostitutes, junkies, transvestites and that sort of touristy stuff. Anyway, the one says he's been living there, at the Y, for a while with the likelihood of being mugged, raped or killed on a daily basis, which I would believe knowing of the area so he had been thinking about leaving and going to Portland. He said the deciding event was one night when the two men in the cots next to him got into a fight and the one pulled out a 14" black dildo and began beating the other man with it. He said he was so scared he curled up on his cot and started to cry while the security guards just sat in the corner and laughed at the sight of the man beating the other with the dildo. This in and of itself is relatively funny. The mental image is enough to make you giggle a little (I know I shouldn't laugh but it's funny) but it's what he said next that caused me to shoot my 4 shots of espresso out of my nose, and I quote "I don't care how clean your glory hole is, I don't want to be touched by another mans insides".I lost it. I swear to God it's true. You can't write that kinda shit.

$185,000 for coral reef research and preservation in Maui County, Hawaii

$55,000 in meteorological equipment for Pierce College in Woodland Hills, Calif.

$9.9 million for science enhancement at historically black colleges in South Carolina.

In addition to the basic operations of government, the new budget includes 775 pages of earmarks, funding programs that include local museums, colleges and infrastructure projects. Among the earmarked projects in the bill are:

$764,000 for the Lake George Watershed Protection Initiative in New York, requested by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, New York Democrat;

$9.9 million for South Carolina's historically black colleges and universities, requested by House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn, South Carolina Democrat;

$1.1 million requested by Senate Republican Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander and Sen. Bob Corker, both of Tennessee, for water treatment plant improvements in Tennessee's Unicoi County, as well as $300,000 for a sewer extension project in another county.

The average median family income in the U.S is $57,000, give or take. Why not just find 1.2 million unemployed people and give them $57,000 each? Makes just as much sense to me since this is whole thing is just one big social program anyway.

No More Monkey Business

If you're worried your elected officials aren't doing their job, rest easy; I have good news for you.

Have you been watching congress and the house lately and wondering if they're doing what we sent them to D.C. to do? I heard today they voted on and passed the Captive Primate Protection Act. Yes, you read that correctly; while our society, way of life and economy is falling down around our ears, our elected officials had the opportunity to pass a bill making it illegal to own a monkey.

Uh, seriously, what the FUCK?

Is this a big problem where you live? I know it's not a serious issue in my neighborhood. I'm sure all the people I know in Caldwell, Idaho that own monkeys will be pissed but, wait, I don't know anyone, anywhere that owns a monkey. So, then I must ask; who the hell is this legislation for?

Our country looks to be on the verge of stateism, fascism or socialism (look up the definitions and take your pick) and these fucktards are passing legislation making it illegal to keep a monkey in a cage. Really? Nothing more important to focus your energy on, ladies and gentlemen? I find that hard to believe.

I guess on the bright side when it's time for reelection they can honestly tell you they did something .
